DataHand Keyboards Follow New OSHA Regulations

Tuesday November 21 by Staff Writer
Phoenix company, DataHand Systems, Inc., is strengthening marketing efforts since OSHA announced new ergonomic regulations. The regulations outlined risk factors for keyboarding, which are reported to be minimized by the use of a DataHand keyboard.

According to Dennis Monroe, DataHand Vice President of Operations, "There are three causes of problems for people who use keyboards: motion, force and position. DataHand keyboards require one-third the force of regular keyboards, and one-eighth the work to operate one of our keys compared to normal keyboards. Additionally, the palm rest and the ability to make adjustments to the unit allow the user to find a comfortable position. We have many customers who will verify the DataHand keyboard allows long hours of comfortable typing.''

DataHand, founded in 1995, was designed to reduce health problems from repetitive stress injuries like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The unconventional design of the DataHand keyboard allows the use of low operating force, greatly reduced finger travel, and improved ergonomic hand support when compared to other keyboards.
